Memoir

Spiritual Lawyer

In this second memoir, Ange retraces how she went from corporate lawyer to modern mystic without ever going on a spiritual retreat, but instead by recognising the spiritual teachers around her and learning from them.

It started on the 17th of September 1986 when she was still a law student and she made the decision that saved her life: a simple change of mind about going out shopping. At the exact time she would have been there, a bomb was placed in front of Tati, rue de Rennes, at the precise place and time she would have been there had she not changed her plans. The bomb killed seven people and injured fifty-five.

This created a burning desire in her to find answers to the big mysteries in life. Why did she change her mind and why did the other people who died or got injured not hear their guardian angel and live that day? Moment by moment, Ange went from a material existence to a life full of meaning.

Readers of the first three chapters have said...

“Oh Ange it’s so beautifully written. I can’t wait to read the whole thing. You are a natural storyteller and this story is one that captivated me from the very beginning. This memoir is inspiring and the perfect read for those who are wondering how to blend their intuition with their rational mind and lives.” Hannah Law, Photographer and author

“One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious. The latter procedure, however, is disagreeable and therefore not popular.” Carl Jung

Going from international business lawyer to modern mystic takes time, especially when like Ange, you resist almost every step of the way. It took a fair number of instances for Ange to crack the shell of the cynicism that her atheist mother had raised her in. Enlightening moments that Ange resisted consistently as embracing the higher path felt so scary to her.

None of her friends were particularly religious or spiritual growing up, so when she first experienced something she could not explain, she didn’t have anyone to turn to for explanations. So she started her journey of finding them. As books had been her only loyal friends throughout her life, that is where she began. When she became a mother, however, her children stepped in as her true spiritual teachers.
